Frequently Asked Questions About Our Yoga Classes
I’ve never done yoga before, so can I still join?
Absolutely! Our yoga classes are designed with newcomers in mind. You don’t need to be flexible or fit to start as yoga is about moving at your own pace, not keeping up with anyone else. We’ll guide you step by step through simple poses and breathing techniques, with plenty of modifications if you need them. Most people are surprised at how quickly they feel comfortable once they get on the mat.
What should I wear to class?
Comfort is key, so we recommend stretchy or loose fitting clothes that allow you to move freely. Leggings, shorts or comfortable workout pants paired with a t-shirt or tank top are ideal. Yoga is usually practiced barefoot, but you might want socks for relaxation at the end of class.
Do I need to bring my own yoga mat?
We provide mats at the studio, so you don’t need to bring anything if you’re just starting out. That said, some people prefer to eventually buy their own mat for personal comfort and hygiene. If you’d like, feel free to bring a towel or a light blanket for extra cosiness during the relaxation part of class.
How do the classes usually run?
Each class has a natural flow, and we’ll begin with a short grounding or breathing exercise, then move into warm ups to prepare the body. From there, you’ll work through a sequence of postures — sometimes flowing, sometimes holding them longer depending on the style. We always finish with a relaxation or meditation so you leave feeling refreshed and balanced.
Am I too old or too stiff for yoga?
Not at all. Yoga is for everyone, regardless of age, flexibility or experience. In fact, many of our students start yoga later in life and often say they wish they had tried it sooner. If you feel stiff or unfit, yoga can actually help you release tension, improve mobility and gradually build strength in a safe and supported way.
Is yoga just for women, or can men join too?
Yoga is for everyone, and we welcome men and women of all ages and backgrounds. In fact, many athletes use yoga to improve flexibility, strength and focus, while others come simply to relax and manage stress. No matter your reason, you’ll feel right at home here.
